Ichiro Fujinaga

Ichiro Fujinaga (ichiro.fujinaga@mcgill.ca) is Canada Research Chair in Music Information Retrieval and Professor in the Music Technology Area of the Department of Music Research at the Schulich School of Music, McGill University. He has bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and music (percussion) from the University of Alberta, a master’s degree in music theory, and a PhD in music technology from McGill. For forty years, his primary research focus has been optical music recognition. Appointed to McGill in 2002, he established the Distributed Digital Music Archives & Libraries laboratory, pioneering digital music archive and library systems for an emerging online world.
