Tim Daly

Tim Daly (daly.t@unimelb.edu.au) is a Melbourne-based lecturer, musicologist and performer who received his PhD from the University of Melbourne in 2021. His dissertation, which employed custom-designed software to develop an analytical framework for the fifteenth-century cantus firmus mass, subsequently took third place in the IMS’s Outstanding Dissertation Award in 2022. His research continues to explore music theory, training and compositional process in the late-medieval period. In addition to teaching privately and at the MCM, University of Melbourne, Tim is an adjunct research fellow in the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at the University of New England.
